Need functionality to change whois servers. Also, the WhoIs database format has changed recently. I use a desktop app for whois searches called SmartWhois. Might give you some ideas to implement.

In order for people to really take this utility on, as a tool in their mobile domain name searches, you need to express some sort of legal note that ensures prospective users that their search results are kept completely undisclosed to any other party but themselves.

We take privacy very seriously and it's one of the reasons we wrote this app. However, there are several parties queried in each search, e.g. DNS providers and WHOIS servers. We try to do this in a way that avoids known avenues of domain stealing -- and we think this is a benefit to users -- but ultimately we do not control those systems. Any legal statement would be very tricky indeed.

I often will "brainstorm" a list of available domain name combinations for clients, and it's cumbersome to sift through one (very) long list of domains... When I try to filter down to "Available" domains, the app displays the correct number of entries but with the wrong data. For example, if the first 2 domains are taken but the next 4 are available, trying to filter to "Available" shows the 2 taken and 2 available domains, not the 4 available ones.

This is a real dream request. Some IP lookup sites will show you a google map of where the IP is. Your icon kind of implies it and it would be a real sizzle feature. Would even pay for a pro version with some of these bells and whistles.

I changed this to .de -- I'm slowly working through the hundreds of different whois formats. In the case of .de, one makes a custom query as well as parsing a custom output. You will see this feature implemented in v1.1.
